3, 2, 1 Our adventure starts here. SEE in Iceland

So we arrived! We are in Iceland after a very long trip and some delayed flights we managed to arrive in campus. But before being here someone picked us up from the airport (thank you to our German guys Nathalie and Christian). The road from the airport until the campus was quite long, maybe because the maximum speed that it is allowed here is 90km/h and also because of the strong winds that they have it here. During our road (that it lasted for almost 2h) we were impressed by the view and a very long tunnel which it is made under the water. DSC_0176
During our second day here we decided to do some grocery shopping and to buy basic stuffs that we needed to survive in here and we have visited Bonus supermarket from Borgarnes. After we bought everything that we found necessary, the guys that were with us told us that we should go to see the lake (drums, please) and there we had this awesome view that takes your breath away (if you don’t trust us just take a look at this photo and here you will find from right to left Tiinti, Petra, Tomas, Ana and Alina). Pretty awesome, don’t you think so? 12516534_10201539928377678_84136924_n

Oh, wait we have more to tell you because we saw some horses during our trip and we though that we should stop and take a moment to touch them and to see them closer and it was the best decision that we could took. The horses here look a little bit different compared with the one that we have in Romania, they have some more fur, they are smaller and look like ponies.

Also during the evening we were out with the majority of the exchange students that were here and we have tried Icelandic food and we can truly say that we have enjoyed it (this is the name of the restaurant Grábrók – Hreðavatnsskáli and those are our colleagues from: South Korea, Germany, France, Finland, Czech Republic).

Hmm… day 3 in Bifrost.
It was strange to wake up ” in the morning at 11 a.m. ” , meaning 13 p.m. in Romania .
Alina already sent me four messages with ” good morning „, ” are you awake ? ” Etc. from 8 a.m.

My face? Yeah … something like: I wanna sleep more…it’s dark outside……
Things got interesting few hours later when others came up with the idea to go see surroundings.

We dressed well because it was cold that day. I felt like a penguin, my ski outfit is casual and quite thick on me and I feel like very big), instead Alina’s outfit was very funny because it made a strange noise like a “chițăitoare”) :D.
On our way there it was a lot of ice and we all had camera. From one end to another you would hear only „look out it’s slippery „, „take care of the camera” , “but there were several victims”, of course not the cameras but their owners.DSC_0185IMG_7238
It was funny to see them falling on all sides but the cameras remaining above.

Arrived at the lake we had a gorgeous sunset over the frozen lake, (I must say that it was 3:30 p.m. afternoon) and we managed a few beautiful shots I say .

We climbed a little higher and we saw this:

Silence, fresh air and a great view .I wouldn’t have gone from there.
Next stop was like a mini waterfall.DSC_0261
I leave you to describe it.

I returned to campus so pleasantly surprised that hardly wait to see what’s next.

We feel great here :).
